NEW YEAR< SAME BILLS!

Welcome top 2010.  It's been a wet winter and costs have been high, so please think of us.

One of our wonderful supporters Kayleigh, is risking life and limb to help fundraise.  On 29th January she will spend the night in the old Derby Royal Infirmary Ghost Hunting.  This is the group she is with http://www.ghosttoursuk.co.uk/#/dri-august/4533538764

You can donate her sponsorship money on the Paypal donate button on the homepage, please mark it Spooky!

Thank you Kayleigh, we hope they don't get you!

 November 2009

A herd of ponies has been abandoned after a market.  Some cruel person has just left them to fend for themselves in this awful weather.  We will help them, but we could really do with some donations to pay for all the things they need. Can you help?  Click the donation button below.

Here's some of them, newly arrived and a bit shell shocked:

Welcome to 2009!  Bad weather is here and we need help to feed all the animals.  Please use the bale of hay button, just £2.50 for a bale and help us feed everyone.
Credit crunch has hit horses too.  Animals given up because they can't feed them or pay for their livery and a lack of new homes for the same reason.  It will be a hard year.

Buy a bale of hay!  £2.50 buys a bale of hay, please donate by clicking this button, every bit helps

Don't forget our online shop, every purchase brings in a donation

HMV, Sky, Thorntons, Pontins, game consoles and LOTS more

March 2008
Apologies for missing news, winter is a very busy time for us.  We sadly lost one of our cows to a heart attack and have had to give lots of tlc to other herd members who are obviously missing her. There have been lots of horses in and out and lots of work trying to keep the mud at bay which is a never ending job at this time of year. One of our helpers, Sam came up with a great idea to help feed the animals.   We have created a Bale of Hay Paypal button which means you can click on it to pay £2.50 to buy a bale of hay.  Every bit helps us to keep feeding the never ending influx of sad animals.
Debbie Connolly, from the BBC's Dog Borstal show is staying with us at the moment.  She is looking at arranging a fundraising show for us in the spring.  Some dog training, pet advice, fun dog show etc, so any ideas, please email us or email Debbie (DebbieC on the forum or www.safepets.co.uk)

IMPORTANT!  Fundraising auction in May on The Refuge Forum, can you donate something to auction for the sanctuary?

September 2007
Well a bit of better weather and a donation of some hay bales has helped.  We are over run with kittens and puppies at the moment, so join the forum and offer them a home or spread the word and help find them a home!  We have spent hours trapping and catching some kittens made homeless after their building was demolished.  They are doing really well and are very gorgeous!
Some great horses in and out too!  Duke the Shire has been very popular and an Andalusian mare has just come in.  A Royal Welsh winner has just gone to his new home, can't believe how many horses still waiting for help.

August 2007

We have had a great day today fundraising (18th August)  Despite the heavy rain, Rolex the Great Dane and Casper the Greyhound got a lot of attention and helped raise some money.  We have to thank Carmarthen Bon Marche and Kelly in particular for all the work they have put in and all the efforts they made.  Look for the photo in the Carmarthen Journal Next week.

FUNDRAISING!
Bon Marche store, Carmarthen are kindly hosting a fundraising day as it is National Homeless animal day on Saturday 18th August 2007.  The National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (NASSL) will get the proceeds of the days events.  Trallwm Farm is very grateful to NASSL for the support they have given his sanctuary over the last few years.  Raffle tickets are available  at Bon Marche Llanelli, Swansea and Carmarthen and here.  Tickets are £2 each or 3 for £5.

As some of you regulars will see, we have a new freshened up website!  We hope you all like it and if there is anything else you would like to see here, please email us.  We are starting some individual donation options for our permanent residents as the weather is raising the price of feed and straw and making life difficult.  The horses have needed new rugs to counteract the unusually wet and cold weather and the oldies get extra feed to help them keep their weight and body temperature stable.

We have just agreed to take 3 horses from a lady who contacted us several months ago.  Sadly she had terminal cancer.  Her thoughts were for what would happen to her beloved horses after she was gone so she made arrangements for us to have them when the end came.  Sadly we have just been told she has died but she was happy that her horses were going to be cared for.  A very brave lady and we wish her family and friends well and offer our condolences.

We will have Debbie Connolly from the BBC3 show Dog Borstal here off and on for several months.  She has been helping our dogs cats and kittens and learning about horses and cows although she hasn't managed to get the cows lead trained yet!  She is doing private consultations all over Wales and parts of the UK, see her site if you want to book her  http://www.safepets.co.uk
